PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT:

I know some people after reading this will still rub anointing oil on their forehead and move around as if they own Lagos.  Do you remember the story of the prudent man and the simple man in the Bible? The prudent heard there's trouble, he withdrew from the street. But the simple man heard there's trouble on the street. He entered the street and was killed. Read the book of proverbs.  I am giving you this advise for free because I have spent most of my life around Ojo. I know how the mad people behave. They will hurt whoever stray into their net.  This is not the time to move aimlessly around Ojo local government and Iba local council development area. You will get killed or injured and nothing will happen. If you are stuck in Badagry and you live at iba, find somewhere around Badagry to sleep tonight. Don't risk coming late today.  If you work on the Island, and you suspect you could get home late due to the traffic around mile 2 and Volks, please don't bother come ...

Lagos is Wrapped in Darkness by Omoruyi Uwuigiaren

You can't help but wonder what Lagos in particular will look like if Tinubu becomes president. These miscreants will unleash mayhem on anyone at the slightest provocation. As at today, there's practically total breakdown of law and order in Lagos State.  Don't tell me state is the safest blah, blah, blah.  What is keeping Lagos together is  not the police or any recognised security agency. It is will to survive by sincere Lagosians that is keeping the city together. Aside this, the system in Lagos is broken.  Watch how the police turned away from the NURTW factions that were fighting. It shows they are powerless, weak and lost.  This attitude of the police is the reason why Nigeria is almost a failed state. They can't genuinely fight crime. If you cannot fight crime, you have no business being a police officer.  These same people who say they are police officers are quick to attack peaceful protesters.  When they see real trouble, they turn...

Man Jailed as Sex Worker Dies in his House

Still struggling to come terms with the sad news that hit me with a dreadful sting few days ago.  I hope I recover from the shock and I pray the poor soul find his footing in this life or the next.  A man in his late twenties. Brilliant, tough and clever fell into a hole.  He was yet to recover from a girl he inpregnated in the village some years ago.  All efforts by the family to get him to marry the girl proved abortive.  Many years had past, yet he couldn't commit himself to the lady and his child who is now three years old. Angrily, the lady left him and relocated to the village with the child.  He said he was not ready to marry her. Not to talk of being a father to his own child.  While the parents wanted him to settle down and put his life together, the young man was never on the same page with his own family.  He was always sleeping around with women. There are several women in his life, most of which are prostitutes. He brings them home at...

HOW WRITING MY FIRST BOOK DESTROYED PEOPLE PLEASING AND EMPOWERED MY GLOW UP by Tamara Rasheed

In 2009, I wasn't prepared for all the fear and worry that popped up when I sat down to write my first book. Fear shifts when you start writing your book. You're not afraid to protect yourself and play small anymore.  You're feeling the fear, the uncertainty, of stepping into your brightest light.  If you're a new author, you might feel that fear and worry coming, so you have been avoiding being committed to writing. It's scary to relive what you've gone through when it's just for the sake of remembering. And if you've already started this journey, you're probably feeling like you're just crawling toward the finish line and have no energy for what might come next. Going through all of that is so draining. But let me tell you why you need to jump into it even though you're afraid.  And why you need to keep pushing when you're almost finished. As I got started, I realized my fear was coming from the past traumas I had experience...
