It means more people are not going back to their normal lives any time soon. If things stay this way, industries will not work at their full capacity. There will be hard times ahead, especially for third world countries that depend largely on imported goods from the West. This is not good for the fragile world economy. However, there are protests and anti-lock downs all over the world, especially in Europe and South America where the pandemic hit the hardest. People want to get back to their normal life.
