I had vowed to get rid of the cockroaches in my cupboard, where they claimed lordship. Confusion greeted my arrival, as the insects dashed here and there to escape my blows. As I ended their reign, a frightening figure, brawny as a man who had spent hours in a gym, emerged from my shabby walls. He began to punch me.
